Thousands of our neighbors came together on Sunday proving that Our new look, revealed at Sunday's Walk Against Hunger, reflects this new focus, honoring the connection and energy between all of us, the people we help, our community partners, and the real heroes—our donors and volunteers.
Hunger is bigger than food, and it takes hard work and commitment to build a healthy future for everyone in Greater Hartford. You have truly made it possible for people who rely on Foodshare’s programs to keep food on the table, and we certainly could not do this work without you! A specal thanks to iHeart Media’s Renee DiNino and WFSB’s Scot Haney, who helped kick off the 34th Annual Foodshare Walk Against Hunger, hosted by our presenting sponsor, The Hartford. Dollars are still being counted, but thanks to generous support from all of our event sponsors—which included a $30k match from Chase Family Foundations—your contributions will provide immediate relief for kids, seniors and working-poor families struggling to make ends meet. Thank you! Watch our Video to learn how Foodshare is changing what it means to be a food bank. Foodshare remains committed to leading an informed, coordinated response to hunger in our community, but we are stronger together. It's not too late to make a gift and help us reach our goal of $575,000. Your support keeps us moving forward. It makes a difference...YOU make a difference. Thank you for all you do, Jack Hackendorn P.S. Check out photos from Walk day, and please share with your friends and family. |
