If you are interested in donating food, or you’re thinking about hosting a food drive, let us help you get started > Food Industry DonationsDonations from the food industry are vital to helping Foodshare distribute enough food to provide nearly 12 million meals to our hungry neighbors each year. If your company is located in Hartford or Tolland county, please consider becoming a Food Donation Partner. Foodshare welcomes donations of perishable and non-perishable foods, including whole produce, milk, cheese, eggs, dairy, meat, dry goods, and more. Food donors are protected by the Good Samaritan Food Donation Act. We provide food donors with immediate receipts as well as annual reports for tax reporting purposes. Foodshare is available to pick-up donations, or donations can be delivered directly to our locations in Bloomfield and Hartford:
For more information, please contact Food Strategy Manager, Gaye Sgamboti at 860-856-4342. Food & Fund DrivesDid you know? For every $10 donated to Foodshare, we can provide enough food for 25 meals! Foodshare can stretch your cash donation because most of the food we distribute is already donated by the food industry. Monetary donations help us safely connect that donated food to our hungry neighbors through our network of 300 partner programs. If you are thinking about organizing a food drive, we ask that you first consider a Virtual Food Drive. This is an easy and efficient way to help feed our neighbors. Foodshare will customize an online donation page complete with your choice of photo, text and theme and then we’ll send you a private link that you can share with your friends, family, and co-workers. All funds donated through your Virtual Food Drive will help Foodshare fight hunger in our community.
